Major Blake Harness

Major Blake S. Harness is the Operations Officer for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 330 at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. He trains, counsels, and evaluates over 200 cadets from 22 colleges and universities across three states and the District of Columbia in the realms of leadership, Air Force history, and national security affairs while overseeing academic and educational operations within the detachment 

Maj Harness grew up in Tacoma, WA. He graduated from Howard University where he participated in Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and commissioned as a Distinguished Graduate in May 2009. His background as a Combat Systems Officer is as an EC-130H COMPASS CALL electronic warfare officer. His previous assignments were at NAS Pensacola, FL, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ and Greenville, TX. Major Harness has deployed three times in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Chief EC-37B EWO in support of the COMPASS CALL Cross Deck program for the Air Force’s rapid acquisitions program, Big Safari, in Greenville, TX.
